| Built as the staff cottage to a Georgian country rectory, Glebe
Cottage is in the rectory garden, has ample and safe parking and
has its own small garden in which to sit outside. Comprehensive
shops are available within three miles at nearby Crossways, Wool
or Bovington. Moreton station, just over a mile away, is on the
main line from Dorchester to London Waterloo with an approximately
hourly train service. There are two pubs serving food at just
over one and two miles distant.
The detached cottage is on one floor and consists of bathroom,
living room and two bedrooms, the double-bedded room opening out
of the twin bedded room. There are night storage heaters for the
colder months. We welcome children, but not pets. Everything is
provided except sheets and towels. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge
and microwave. The bathroom has a bath with shower. The
living room has a colour TV with integral DVD player and separate video player. For those with
mobility problems a wheelchair can be taken right to the door
and there are only single steps inside and no stairs.
Moreton is situated on the River Frome eight miles from a good
variety of shops in either Dorchester or Wareham. Dorchester has
a famous weekly market, which is well worth a visit. Moreton is
a peaceful farming village, famous for its church with windows
engraved by Laurence Whistler and its churchyard where Lawrence
of Arabia is buried. There are miles of lovely walks direct from
the cottage, the river is just round the corner and the nearest
coast is six miles away at Lulworth. The area is a haven for birdwatchers,
walkers, cyclists, all natural history enthusiasts and lovers
of peace and quiet. Visitors to Glebe Cottage and Moreton have
been coming back to us for over 20 years. |
